The Knowles Family Collection
For the first time in over a half -century, the Knowles Family is offering a portion of their vast collection of dining-centric décor and furnishings to the public. To make way for exciting changes to come, this multi-generational family of restaurateurs is renovating and shifting the composition of their collection and properties. This is a unique opportunity to acquire a piece of American Fine Dining history. For the many who have celebrated at a Knowles venue, the mere mention of these properties evokes joyful memories. The Manor is a Northern New Jersey landmark renowned for a decades long fine dining pedigree. Selections from the pre-renovation Carolina Room and Buffet Dining Room are among the items being offered. The historic Rams Head Inn has been a special occasion destination in South Jersey for over 40 years. Decorative selections from its diverse mix of rooms will be available for procurement. The Knowles family will also deaccession a portion of the personal collection of the family’s matriarch, the late Doris Knowles. The objects were curated over years of world travel. The selection is distinctive as it is diverse. Oil paintings in gilt gold frames, Belgian tapestries and carved frame mirrors to add refinement to any wall. Custom hand hammered planters, neoclassical lighting and 18th century continental furniture would bring warm to any room. The choicest grouping is an unparalleled collection of Limoges porcelain. Hand painted vases, monumental bowls and fish sets are ready for the keen collector. Whether seeking that special piece of décor or discovering a memento you remember as a past guest, the Knowles Family Collection has much to offer.
